Volunteers
You can make a positive difference!
When you volunteer with ACH Group you have the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of older people as well as enriching your own life. Even if you have only a small amount of time, it will be valued and your skills and ability will be put to good use. Because we are a large organisation our volunteers have access to ongoing training and development and are always well supported.
Everyone benefits from volunteering
We are looking for reliable people who are able to give a regular commitment for volunteering with us, and who have a desire to contribute to improving the lives of older people. In return, as an ACH Group Volunteer, you also benefit from the experience. We offer free training and our volunteers are always picking up new skills. Volunteering can give you great personal satisfaction, increased confidence and the chance to meet new people. We recognise our volunteers' contributions and consider them a valued part of our team.
What volunteering roles are available?
There are a wide range of volunteering roles available, both short and long term. We need volunteers to act as companions, drivers, gardeners and tutors for older people. Roles include administration assistants, entertainers and maintenance personnel, as well as assistance with shopping, leisure activities and exercise.
Volunteering options are available seven days a week and days and times are flexible. Whatever time you're able to offer, there is a role for you as an ACH Group Volunteer.
What some of our volunteers have said

"I have got to know lots of people in my local community and made lots of friends."
"Being a single mum with children at school, I was bored at home and volunteering has got me out of the house and I have learnt some new skills."
"I have just moved from interstate and volunteering has enabled me to meet new people whilst helping the community."
