Placement Services

ACH Group offers a central placement service. The placement team receive all enquiry applications and refer people selected for accommodation to our various sites. Direct contact to an ACH Group site for accommodation enquiries is not offered as all placement occurs through our Placement Services Office.

Waiting Lists

Residential care in South Australia is in high demand and we therefore have quite large waiting lists for accommodation. ACH Group is unique in that it will offer accommodation to people living in the local area or having substantial links to the local area of our residential care facility. We therefore, given the pressure on our services, very rarely can offer accommodation to a person outside of the local area of the Residential facility.

If you are on our waiting list, it is essential for you to contact our placement team at least every 2 months to maintain your application as current. In addition, you should contact us immediately if there has been a change in your circumstances which changes the care needs or urgency of the placement.

Please also advise if you have changed you address, phone number or other contact details so we can ensure we can meet your needs as quickly as possible.

Services to Financially Disadvantaged People

As required by the Commonwealth Government, ACH Group allocate approximately 1 in 5 vacancies for care to people who are financially disadvantaged. This can affect our waiting lists and placements at sites where we have high demand from applicants.

Respite Services

We offer respite beds in both High Care and Low Care, which are in very high demand and booked up to 12 months in advance. The respite service is to support older people who live in the community who require short term care rather than people awaiting long-term placement. We do on occasions have emergency respite vacancies and we encourage you to advise of your willingness to accept a respite break at short notice.

Admissions

All of ACH Group Aged Care Facilities offer both permanent and respite accommodation. Admission is handled by our experienced Placement team, who will ensure the move into the service is trouble free.

Prior to admission residents will require the approval of the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). Your local doctor or your local ACAT can assist you with the procedure. The ACAT assesses care needs and assists people to gain access to the service most suited to your needs.

ACAT approvals are valid for 12 months so consequently you need to update them to ensure they are current. Copies of changes to ACAT forms need to be sent to our Placement Division.

Bonds and Charges

The Accommodation Bond level and fortnightly tariff are regulated by the Commonwealth Government. Up-to-date information on charges is available from the Department of Health & Ageing or our Placement Team.

Residents moving into an ACH Group Aged Care Facility which are assessed as unable to pay the bond or charge (having assets below $37,500) will not be required to do so.

Entry to Hostel

Residents entering our Hostels (Low Level Care) are assessed for their requirement to pay a Bond, which will vary dependant on asset levels.

Entry to Nursing Home

Residents entering our Nursing Homes (High Level Care) are assessed as being required to pay an Accommodation Charge of between $0-$26.88 per day for Supported Residents and Non-Supported Residents.

Daily Care Fees

All residents pay a daily care fee of $38.65.
