Centre based Respite
ACH Group have a variety of options for carer respite including the centre based programs below. You may choose to access any of these services in conjunction with our other services or on their own.
Southern Onkaparinga Seniors Access incorporates McLaren Vale Club, Willunga Club, Sellicks Community Group, Coastal Seniors Access, Out & About, and Coastal Capers. The focus of the programs are to help older people maintain their independence thus enabling them to remain in their own homes and community. Support for carers and information on aged care services is also provided.
McLaren Vale Club
(177 Main Road, McLaren Vale)
A social, wellness and respite day program. Club days are Tuesday and Thursday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm
The program provides the following activities with individual interests encouraged to be maintained
- Hand Waxing/Hand and Shoulder Massages
- Podiatry by appointment (monthly)
- Pottery/Cards/Scrabble/Bingo/Quiz
- Sitting Dances/Chair Exercises
- Two monthly outings
- Guest Speakers
- And more...
Willunga Club
(Willunga Bowling Club, St Peter's Tce, Willunga)
Club day is on a Wednesday 9.00 am-12 noon.
- Hand Waxing
- Cooked lunch (last Wed of month)
- Hand/Shoulder Massage
- Chair Exercise Group
- Varied games.
Sellicks Community Group
(Sellicks Beach Community Hall, Riviera Rd Sellicks Beach)
Health maintenance program with social activities and a light lunch included.
Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (except Public Holidays) at 10.30 - 2.00 p.m. Lunch is provided for a small cost.
Coastal Seniors Access (Church of Christ Community Hall, Pridham Boulevard, Aldinga Beach)
The Health Lifestyle program was established in 1996. Members meet on a monthly basis to attend health education discussions. The program is held 4th Tuesday of the month, 2.00 pm - 3.30 pm.
Elizabeth House (112 Elizabeth Road Christies Downs SA 5164)
This is a centre based social and leisure program, run in conjunction with the City of Onkaparinga, for frail older people and people with a disability requiring some practical assistance. Activities include regular bus tours, entertainment and guest speakers. Contact the program Coordinator for details and referral.
Riverview Respite (26 River Road, Port Noarlunga SA 5167)
This program is a flexible day respite located on the grounds of Perry Park Residential Care Services. Carers can be confident the guests are taking part in individually planned activities that are interesting, fun, holistic and empowering.
