Volunteer Helen Vincent’s love of travel and keeping fit is inspiring a new generation of walkers at ACH Group’s Highercombe Residential Services.

On April 12th, Federal Minister for Ageing Mark Butler, and South Australian Minister for Health and Ageing Jack Snelling were part of a ceremony to mark the laying of the first foundations for a $46 million state of the art 120-place health, teaching and research facility at the Repatriation General Hospital.

ACH Group Volunteer Jennifer Tosolini  was recently presented with the Every Generation Outsanding Achievement Award by COTA SA at the Every Generation AwardsFestival award for outstanding achievement.

On December 5th ACH Group hosted the fourth Good Lives Event for 2012, showcasing programs and intiatives to support good lives for older people.

Participation in Art programs is a real focus at ACH Group and residents from Milpara, at Rostrevor, recently exhibited their artwork in the 2012 SALA Festival.

Ten years after what can only be described as a community doing its bit to ensure older people have every opportunity to continue living their lives in their local surrounds, the Yankalilla Centre is still going strong. 

ACH Group’s inaugural Good Lives event at Milpara provided guests with a unique opportunity to learn about the array of options that are available to people living in their 70s, 80s and 90s in the Rostrevor community.

Sharing personal stories and seeing them come to life through art was a most inspiring experience for Amilda Stead, a participant of the “In the Flow” Murray Bridge community art project.

ACH Group is continuing to support people with dementia through its Dementia Champions program which equips staff with expert knowledge.

ACH Group’s “Sing for Joy” program has been shortlisted in this year’s national Music in Communities Awards.

The Awards reward and promote community music groups, the ‘unsung heroes’ of Australia’s cultural life. 

A number of staff were congratulated at the 2011 ACH Group End of Year Event for their efforts and achievement throughout the year.

The theme of the night was "Join The Green Team" as evidenced here by Employee of The Year Tara McArthur, receiving her award from ACH Group CEO Mike Rungie.

Aged care provider, ACH Group has been awarded two awards for its exemplar better practice in high quality residential aged care by an internationally recognised accreditation body, the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.

Are you over 50 and want to get fit for summer? ACH Group Milpara is now offering ‘Strength for Life Fitness’ classes.

In a first for South Australia's community based visual arts festival, the South Australian Living Art Festival or SALA is coming to ACH Group Milpara, with a group of 12 residents exhibiting their artworks at the residential home from August 11 - 28.

For ACH Group client and Port Power fan Shirley Cartwright, training at Alberton Oval is a dream come true. She thoroughly enjoys Life Exercises, a partnership program between ACH Group and Port Adelaide Football Club.

The ACH Group Foundation for Older Australians funds small grant initiatives that enable older people to enjoy activities they love and try new ones.
