Cottage-based Respite

Cottage-based respite is specifically designed to provide quality care and lifestyle choices for older people while enabling their carers some time out.

Savas Cottage is based at Rostrevor in Adelaide’s east and Swan Cottage at Pennington provides support in Adelaide’s western suburbs.

The cottages are available for:

• Carers of any age who live in the eastern or western region of Adelaide and are caring for an older person (65 years of age or older)
• Carers who need a short break from their caring role
• Carers who may be in the workforce and need assistance with day respite to continue their employment

The cottages offer day and/or overnight care, with respite support designed to meet individual needs. They offer:

• Cottage-based care and activities
• Assistance to access appointments
• Referral to and planning for appropriate longer term services
• Specialist staff and volunteers who are matched to suit each individual
